Police task force on organized crime seizes cocaine, weapons in Regina raid

An integrated police task force dedicated to investigating organized crime seized cocaine, cash and loaded guns after carrying out a  raid on a house on Vernon Crescent in Regina last week.

On Nov. 10, members of the Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) unit assisted the Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit (CFSEU) in executing the search warrant looking for evidence of weapons and drug trafficking in relation to a group that operates extensively in Regina.

Investigators seized cocaine, cash, body armour and several weapons including a loaded handgun.

Anthony Roy Aransevia, 32, is facing weapons charges and possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking.

Dennis Wayne Joseph Lessard, 26, is also facing charges for possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking and possession of a loaded prohibited firearm.

The CFSEU is a province wide integrated police task force dedicated to investigating existing and emerging organized crime groups.
