Murray Wood: It's time to pull over reckless people on scooters, bikes
Murray Wood says he's had too many close calls with people on scooters, bikes and skateboards. But he's never seen them ...
Traffic was blocked on the Trans-Canada Highway west of Swift Current overnight after several vehicles were involved in a collision.
Shortly before 10 p.m. Monday, a semi hauling fertilizer was traveling behind another semi hauling machine parts. RCMP say the fertilizer semi hit the other semi from behind. Two other vehicles were involved in the crash; one hit debris on the road, and another drove into the ditch to avoid the crash.
The driver of the semi carrying fertilizer was taken to hospital but is expected to be OK. The other drivers weren’t hit.
The eastbound lanes of the highway and one westbound lane was closed for several hours as the crash was cleaned up. By 1:30 a.m. Tuesday, the road was reopened.
