Gender-neutral washrooms will be among the many features available when the new Mosaic Stadium opens next season.
They will be single-use and accessible to anyone regardless of gender identification.
Mayor Michael Fougere supports the move toward inclusive washroom facilities.
“That’s something that I think is really reflective of what’s happening in our society,” he said during an interview with the CJME Morning Show.
The plans are still being finalized, but the city said there are nine washrooms identified as gender-neutral. They are spread throughout the stadium including five on the main concourse level, and one on each side of the stadium in both the club level and the upper concourse level.
He noted that the Mamaweyatitan Centre in North Central Regina will also have single-use gender-neutral washrooms.
