A 22-year-old man has been charged in the hunting death of Prince Albert’s Jordan Darchuk.
Darchuk was shot while hunting south of Weirdale on Sept. 16. An investigation revealed Darchuk and another 22-year-old man from Prince Albert, were hunting in the same area at the same time but did not know each other. Darchuk was found dead with an apparent gunshot wound. The incident was reported to police by the other hunter who remained at the scene.
Thursday afternoon Nipawin RCMP arrested Austyn Adamko, also of Prince Albert. Adamko is charged with multiple offences including criminal negligence causing death, careless use of a firearm, unauthorized possession of a firearm, and unauthorized possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle.
Adamko appeared in Nipawin Provincial Court Friday morning.
