A friend just offered me a ticket for the Winnipeg Jets’ first home playoff game against the Nashville Predators.
I’m not exactly a Jets fan, but I do like head coach Paul Maurice and the way his team plays. And I’ve never attended an NHL playoff game.
“How much?” I asked. “$250,” I was told. “Very tempting,” I said. “When is the game?”
Nobody knew. The NHL initially announced only the opening games for Round 2 of its playoffs. Never mind that the league had about a week to schedule most of the best-of-seven series. People would like to make plans. So would the teams.
The Jets will visit Nashville on Friday for Game 1 of their playoff series. Game 2 would be Sunday or Monday, also in Nashville. So Game 3 could be in Winnipeg on Tuesday, or Wednesday, or Thursday… I started making plans, but I might be gone awhile.
