Are you ready for some Sunday, early morning football?
The Saskatchewan Roughriders visit the Montreal Alouettes on Sunday morning. For the most part this year the CFL has avoided scheduling its games against NFL telecasts. NFL games can take viewers — sometimes lots of viewers, sometimes not so many — away from CFL games. So it’s been a good idea to concentrate CFL games on Fridays and Saturdays, ceding most Thursday nights and Sundays to the Americans after the NFL season started.
Stadium availability and TSN’s broadcasting commitments often force the CFL into altering dates and times. The Roughriders versus Montreal game starts at 1 p.m. in Quebec, which is 11 a.m. in Saskatchewan. That’s usually when the Riders start their practices, so it’s not that early, but just in case the Riders flew into Montreal an extra day early to get acclimated. We don’t get that benefit with the Green Zone. Our pregame show starts Sunday at 9 a.m. That’s early!
