It’s hard to see good people go. And Spencer Moore is good people.
Moore was traded to the Montreal Alouettes for a conditional pick after six seasons in Saskatchewan since being drafted in the fifth round.
Moore has been a special teams captain for the last few years and been a leader of that group downfield on tackles as well as making key blocks.
Offensively, Moore wasn’t asked to be a key contributor in the game plan catching a career-high eight passes this season.
But Moore was a team first guy through and through.
Maybe his biggest contribution was to the community. Moore was found in small towns and schools across Saskatchewan spreading the word of anti-bullying through the Red Cross Imagine No Bullying Program.
Saskatchewan became a home away from home and he treated it as such.
As always, the football business will lead to good people being cut or traded but Moore’s contributions on and off the field need to be recognized.
