Regina police have charged a 24-year-old man after needing to use the SWAT team, crisis negotiators and a canine unit to arrest him Tuesday in the North Central area.
At about 3 p.m., a heavy police presence was seen around a home on the 1200 block of McTavish Street to execute a search warrant.
Police members entered the home and arrested the man, while also finding ammunition and stolen property.
They charged the man, John Watkin, with possession of a firearm or ammunition contrary to a prohibition order and possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000.
He’ll make his first court appearance in provincial court on May 30.
