The weekend of baseball reminded me that Game 7s in baseball are better than any Game 7 in hockey or basketball.
Every pitch has drama and even though one of the games didn’t have any fans, there was still electricity in the anticipation of the next play.
The Los Angeles Dodgers and Atlanta Braves gave us the best game. It had a comeback, Mookie Betts with another amazing home run-saving catch and a huge home run by Cody Bellinger.
The excitement was the Braves had the chance to answer back with more edge-of-your-seat action.
I know, hockey fans are going to say I’m wrong but the problem with hockey is the rulebook changes. The whistles are put away. When you have a Game 7 with one penalty and six or seven non-calls, it takes away from the moment.
Umps don’t shrink the strike zone in a Game 7. In fact, the umps were impressive in their accuracy in the two deciding games.
So bring on the World Series … and bring on another Game 7.
