Two veteran receivers are making comebacks to the NFL and looking like they’re landing jobs with some of the top contenders.
One makes sense. The other does not.
First, Dez Bryant left the game as a productive vet. There were no personal problems.
And after rehabbing a torn Achilles from two years ago, Bryant signs with the Ravens. Baltimore has a low-risk, high-reward opportunity if Bryant finds his form.
Then you have Antonio Brown, who has the Seattle Seahawks interested.
Here is the high-risk, high-reward option that confuses me. Brown has been nothing but a problem child over the last three seasons, with baggage that includes sexual assault allegations. He also is coming off a court-mandated anger management course after a separate aggravated assault case.
I really don’t understand why the Seahawks would even consider this. The last thing a Super Bowl contender needs is a potential circus.
And when Bill Belichick has already passed on a reclamation project, it’s a good sign the reward isn’t worth the risk.
