The City of Regina has again pushed back its plowing of residential roads.
On Wednesday, the city announced it was delaying the planned plowing until Sunday. Now, the city is saying in a release the recent snowfall has delayed that round of street-clearing until “mid to late next week.”
“As the snow continues to sporadically fall, crews are back in storm mode,” the city said in the release. “This means our primary focus is to provide ice control on busy roads and intersections, as well as monitor road sections prone to blowing snow.
“As a result of high winds, this weekend, crews will address areas where snow has blown in, as well as perimeter areas of the city, including some residential streets adjacent to open areas.”
If more than five centimetres of snow falls, crews will conduct a systematic plow on expressways, arterials, hospital routes and high-traffic residential roads. They’ll also remove snow ridges from school loading zones, and will clear sidewalks adjacent to city facilities, parks and transit stops.
Snow routes also are in effect, meaning there’s no parking on certain streets until Sunday at 6 a.m.
