People who rely on Lewvan and Saskatchewan drives to get to work were left scrambling to find an alternate route Monday morning.
The northbound lanes on Lewvan Drive between 11th and 13th avenues were closed Sunday evening, but two-way traffic is still being maintained in the southbound lanes.
The City of Regina said in a tweet Friday the next phase of the Lewvan Drive project beginning on Sunday was the reason behind the closure, which is expected to last for six weeks.
It also said drivers won’t be able to turn on or off Saskatchewan Drive at Lewvan Drive, except for westbound traffic heading north.
Next phase of the Lewvan Dr. Project starts evening of May 28 & lasts 6 weeks. 🚧 The north lanes b/w 13th & 11th will close. Two-way traffic in south lanes.
No turning on/off Sask Dr. at Lewvan, except from westbound traffic heading north.
