A 12-year-old Regina child was taken to hospital on Saturday after being struck by a vehicle while crossing a road.
According to police, the collision happened just after 8 p.m. at the intersection of Arnason Street and Rochdale Boulevard.
“Investigation determined the 12 year-old youth had rode into the crosswalk while crosswalk lights were not activated, and was struck by the braking vehicle,” the Regina Police Service said in a statement.

“EMS attended to the youth who was transported to hospital for assessment of injuries.”
After the crash the driver stayed at the scene and called for emergency services, police noted. The driver was not charged.
The incident on Saturday marks the second injury suffered by a child while crossing a Regina street in less than a week. On Wednesday, a five-year-old child was struck by a vehicle and injured while crossing a road.
