Regina police responded to a reported stabbing on the 700 block of Cameron Street around 1 a.m. on Saturday.
A 32-year-old woman was taken to hospital with injuries from the assault.
Police found the suspect nearby, who gave a false name to officers.
The 51-year-old man was charged with obstruction and taken into custody. He was found to be the subject of an outstanding warrant and made his first court appearance for these charges on Monday.
This incident is not the first on Cameron Street this year. Police have responded to at least six crime-related calls on this street in 2024.
Earlier this month, five men were arrested for forcing their way into a home on the 1500 block and threatening a person inside.
In May, police arrested two teens, again on the 1500 block, after a person was bear sprayed and shot with a pellet gun.
In April, police investigated a weapons-related call that included officers finding a firearm, brass knuckles and a hunting knife in the 1200 block of Cameron Street.
Police responded to a home invasion in the 1000 block in February and a robbery in the 1200 block in January.
