A 26-year-old man is facing five criminal charges in connection with a Regina homicide case involving a man’s body found in a vehicle that was abandoned on Princess Street after a police chase.
According to the Regina Police Service, officers attempted to stop a vehicle near the intersection of Saskatchewan Drive and Albert Street at just before 3 a.m. on Monday. The driver successfully evaded the officers, police said, but the vehicle was later spotted in the 1400 block of Princess Street, in the city’s North Central neighbourhood, by officers in a police plane.

“All occupants had exited the vehicle and fled the scene,” the police force said in a statement.
“Officers on the ground searched the suspect vehicle and located the body of a deceased person inside.”
Police have said the death is being treated as a homicide, marking the city’s first homicide investigation of 2026. The police force said it does not intend to release the name of the deceased man.
In a statement released on Thursday, police said a 26-year-old man has been charged with committing an indignity to a dead body and flight from a peace officer. He appeared in Regina Provincial court on Tuesday, police noted.
On Friday, the man also was charged with carrying a concealed weapon, possession of a firearm contrary to a prohibition order and accessory after the fact to murder.
Anyone with information that could help further the investigation was encouraged to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
