SaskPower is reporting people have received emails impersonating the Crown corporation, asking for financial information from recipients.
The Crown corporation said the emails are claiming to be from SaskPower and “performing a security update.” The email ask for information like credit card and banking details.
“SaskPower will never ask for information in this manner,” said the Crown corporation in a statement. “Never click links or open attachments in suspicious emails.”

If anyone has fallen victim to the scam, they should contact their bank or credit card issuer immediately, SaskPower advised.

“Anyone who doubts the authenticity of a call, email or person claiming to be from SaskPower should contact our customer service line at 1-888-757-6937,” said the Crown corporation in a statement.
