It was seventh time unlucky for a 41-year-old man in Regina after police finally caught up with him and charged him with 19 offences related to seven separate incidents of unsuccessful vehicle theft.
Regina Police Service (RPS) said in a news release on April 20 that attempts were made to steal vehicles on March 7, March 11, some time between March 11 and 15, on March 15, March 30, April 7 and April 9 at various addresses across the city.

The March 7 attempt was made in the 4000 block of Retallack Street, when police said a caller saw in her vehicle, but they ran away when she came outside, leaving behind a damage to the steering column and wiring.
The steering column and wiring of another vehicle was also damaged in the 700 block of King Street on March 11, when police said the man also broke a window to gain access. Then, between March 11 and March 15, the same steering column and wiring damage was found in a vehicle in the 5900 block of Hague Crescent.
On March 15, police said the man entered a garage in the 6200 block of Ehrle Crescent and attempted to steal a vehicle, leaving behind a damaged steering column and wiring.
A vehicle in the 100 block of McIntyre Street was hit on March 30, when police said a woman said her passenger door had been pried open and there was damage to the ignition and wiring in the steering column.
Things were quiet until April 7, when a vehicle parked in the 1300 block of Rae Street was broken into and the steering column and wiring damaged, police said.
The man was finally arrested on April 9 after police said they received a report of a suspicious person inside their vehicle in the 6500 block of Rochdale Boulevard. The man ran away before police arrived, again leaving behind a damaged steering column and wiring, but officers foud him nearby.
Police said further investigation determined the man was responsible for all seven occurrences.
The man is facing three charges of mischief under $5000, three charges of mischief over $5000, one charge of breaking and entering with intent to commit an indicatable offence, six charges of attempted vehicle theft, and six charges of failing to comply with the conditions of a probation order and made his first appearance in Regina Provincial Court on April 13.
