Police in Regina have been busy in recent days, with officers responding to a gunpoint robbery, an attempted mugging, a stabbing and a break in.
The alleged robbery happened on Friday shortly before 4 a.m. Police were called to a business on Victoria Avenue, and employees told the officers that a man threatened them with a gun while demanding cigarettes.

Police said officers searched the area but didn’t locate the suspect. He was described as about six feet tall with an average build and was wearing a grey hoodie, grey sweatpants and a blue medical mask at the time of the alleged robbery.
The Regina Police Service asked anyone with information on the case to get in touch with police or make a report anonymously through Crime Stoppers.
Victim assaulted and stabbed on 11th Avenue
Police say officers were called to the 1300 block of 11th Avenue at around 10:30 p.m. on Saturday after getting a report of a stabbing.
“When they arrived on scene, police learned the victim was walking with two others, when they were approached by four individuals on bikes,” the police force said in a statement.
“Two of the suspects approached the victim, stabbed him and physically assaulted him.”
The victim was taken to a local hospital by paramedics, and police said his injuries were not believed to be life threatening.
Once again, police asked anyone with information that could help the investigation to come forward.
Three people charged after attempted mugging
Police were called to the 4000 block of Fifth Avenue at around 7:40 a.m. on Sunday for a report of a suspicious person.
“When police arrived, they located a victim who told officers he was walking to work when he was approached by three male suspects,” the police force said.
“The suspects demanded money from the victim, chasing him to his workplace, where he was able to lock the door and call police. The suspects then fled the scene.”
Officers found and arrested the three suspects nearby, police said, seizing a gun, a knife and bear spray in the process.
Police said all three suspects – ages 26, 29 and 30 – are facing charges of robbery. The 26-year-old is also facing a charge of breaching conditions of a release order, while the 30-year-old was also charged with firearm offences and carrying a concealed weapon.
All three appeared in court on Monday, police said.
Break-in suspect hospitalized after bite from police dog
Regina police officers got a call from a security company at around 2:30 a.m. on Monday, saying they were watching security footage showing a man breaking into an under-construction apartment complex on Neville Drive.
Police said officers spotted the man leaving the building and he jumped over a fence into an adjacent parking lot. Officers used a police dog to subdue the fleeing man. The dog attacked and bit the alleged burglar, police said, injuring him badly enough to necessitate a trip to the hospital for treatment.
The 22-year-old man is now facing a charge of breaking and entering with intent, and police said he’s expected to appear in court in June.
