The pedestrian killed Wednesday afternoon on Ring Road has been identified as 86-year-old Qili Dong.
According to a Regina police news release, officers were called to Ring Road between Wascana Parkway and Assiniboine Avenue East at about 3:50 p.m. on Oct. 7 after a reported collision involving a pedestrian.

Within minutes, officers arrived and found Dong seriously injured. While EMS tried life-saving measures, Dong died from his injuries.
Police said Dong had previously been reported missing.
The collision shut down the area’s northbound traffic on Ring Road.
The service’s Investigation Collision Analysis Reconstruction Team (ICART) is looking into the collision.
Anyone with information or dash cam footage that could help the investigation is asked to contact police.
String of pedestrian-related accidents
This fatal collision follows a string of accidents involving a pedestrian, cyclist or e-scooter rider on Regina streets.
According to police, just before 8 a.m. Oct. 1, officers were called to the intersection of 7th Avenue and Albert Street after a female pedestrian was reportedly struck by a vehicle. The victim was taken to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The investigation is ongoing.
Police reported a collision involving a cyclist and a vehicle near McCarthy Boulevard and Read Avenue on Sept. 30. The cyclist sustained minor injuries and was not taken to hospital, police said.
Later that afternoon, police attended another collision near Quance Street East and Coleman Street involving a cyclist and a vehicle. The cyclist was taken to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. That investigation is ongoing.
According to police, there were 10 collisions involving vehicles and pedestrians, cyclists or e-bike riders during the 10 days leading up to Sept. 30, resulting in one fatality and multiple injuries.
