Glen Gulutzan’s two-year stint as the Calgary Flames head coach has ended, just days after he was in his home province to represent his NHL team in the aftermath of the Humboldt Broncos’ bus tragedy.
Gulutzan, a product of Hudson Bay, may not have seen it coming, but basically everyone outside the organization knew he was done after the Flames won only two of their last 11 games. The Flames held a playoff spot in late February before imploding. Gulutzan was chided for an in-practice temper tantrum that backfired on him, although earlier in the season a similar display had sparked his players to a winning streak.
