Murray Wood The end of the great Canadian game as we know it
The last Roughrider home game was the last CFL game in Saskatchewan played on a CFL-sized field. Murray Wood thinks it's...
Without diminishing the Saskatchewan Roughriders’ fourth straight victory, the CFL team’s biggest issue moving forward is the health of quarterback Zach Collaros.
Collaros was knocked out of Saturday’s 32-27 victory over the Winnipeg Blue Bombers with a possible concussion.
If Collaros is concussed — it would be his second this season and at least fourth of his career — he has some important decisions to make. So do the Roughriders.
Saskatchewan has improved to 7-4 and sits second in the West primarily because its defence and special teams have been outstanding.
Against Winnipeg, Brett Lauther kicked six field goals and defenders Willie Jefferson and Sam Eguavoen returned interceptions for TDs.
Winnipeg QB Matt Nichols was atrocious and Collaros wasn’t much better, but he’s more dependable than backup Brandon Bridge.
The Roughriders need everything they can get from their offence and Bridge — so far this season — hasn’t proven he can give them anything.
