A 31-year-old man is facing a number of charges after a raid by members of Saskatoon Police Service guns and gangs unit last week.
The Saskatoon Police Service said in an Oct. 14 news release that officers with the unit executed a search warrant at a home in the 1400 block of Avenue M South around 2 a.m. on Oct. 9 with the help of the force’s tactical support unit.

The man was arrested at the home and police said officers seized a loaded prohibited firearm with a 30-round magazine.
The man has been charged with possession of a prohibited firearm, possession of a firearm without a licence, careless storage of a prohibited firearm, and possession of a loaded prohibited firearm.
As well as that arrest, police announced a number of arrests in cases from August and September on Oct. 14.
A 26-year-old woman has been charged with aggravated assault and breaching court-imposed conditions after a stabbing on Sept 12.
Police said in a news release that the woman was arrested on Sept. 30 without incident by the Warrant Enforcement Unit for the stabbing of 33-year-old woman who was found by officers on the sidewalk in the 1600 block 20th Street West.
Police said at the time the victim she was treated for multiple non life-threatening stab wounds at St. Paul’s Hospital.
The Saskatoon Police Service also arrested and charged a 37-year-old man after an incident in summer that was investigated by guns and gangs unit.
Police said the man is facing charges of assault with a weapon, careless use of a firearm, unauthorized possession of a firearm, two counts of prohibited possession of a firearm, discharging a firearm, and assault.
The charges relate to an incident on Aug. 13, when police were called to the 2100 block of 20th Street West for a report of a firearm being discharged.
Police said at the time that the suspect had fled but officers found several spent casings and observed damage to a nearby camper. No one was injured.
And a 24-year-old man has been charged with aggravated a assault after a 49-year-old woman was taken to hospital with non-life threatening stab wounds on Aug. 5.
Police said at the time that officers found the woman in the 3000 block of 20th Street West after being called to the area.
