The City of Regina is accepting proposals to develop the building known as the General Motors Plant, which was partially destroyed by a fire in 2017.
Currently the roughly 300,000 square foot building at 1250 Winnipeg Street is empty, and the city said it isn’t fit for occupancy.

“The City is excited to make this opportunity available to private developers. We are eager to see this site return to active use in the community,” Chad Jedlic, Regina’s director of land, real estate and economic development, said in a statement.
Interested qualified firms or individuals were asked to contact the city to receive a copy of the expression of interest document package.
In May of 2017, fire crews battled a huge fire at the old General Motors plant. The old car plant was opened in Regina in 1927.
It took several hours and seven units – a grand total of 30 firefighters – to get the blaze under control.
