A 24-year-old man was arrested in Regina early on Wednesday morning after allegedly attacking a person on the street with what police described as “a large bar.”
According to police, officers were called to the area of 12th Avenue and Quebec Street at around 1:30 a.m. after getting a report that a man was walking up and down the street wielding the bar.

“He had assaulted another individual and was running in front of vehicles,” the Regina Police Service said in a statement.
Police said the officers who responded to the call quickly spotted the man based on descriptions from the public, and he was arrested “without incident.”
“A search of the suspect, subsequent to arrest, revealed a knife and several live rounds of ammunition,” police said.
“The victim of the assault was assessed on scene by EMS for, what appeared to be, minor injuries.”
The 24-year-old man is now facing charges of assault with a weapon, carrying a concealed weapon, possession of a firearm or ammunition contrary to a prohibition order and failing to comply with a prohibition order.
He appeared in court on Wednesday morning in Regina, police said.
