Less than a week after a vehicle was deliberately burned in Regina, police are investigating a second incident of vehicle arson.
Regina Fire and Protective Services responded to a home on East Sandpiper Crescent for a vehicle fire in the early morning hours of April 16, according to the Regina Police Service.

“Following further investigation, it was determined the fire had been intentionally set. Investigators have since opened an arson investigation, which remains ongoing,” police said in a statement.
The fire followed a similar incident on April 11, when firefighters responded to a vehicle fire that was also determined to be a case of arson, and was also in the city’s east end.
Police asked anyone who may have video surveillance footage or information about “suspicious activity” in the East Sandpiper Crescent area that morning to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
Regina residents were also encouraged to sign up for the Regina police’s Safe Neighbourhood Camera Registry, which allows participants to declare the presence of security cameras on their property should police need access to footage in that area for future investigations.
“When investigations can be concluded more quickly and offenders are held accountable, it helps support crime reduction efforts in our city,” the police force added.
