The Regina Pat Canadians’ hopes of a repeat came to an end in the semifinals at the 2026 Telus Cup.
The Saskatchewan Male U18 AAA Hockey League champions lost to the Atlantic representative, the Halifax Macs, 3-1 in the semifinal game in Peterborough, Ont. at the national championship tournament.

Regina had come into the tournament as the reigning champions and was looking to become just the fourth program in tournament history to win it in back-to-back years.
The Pat Canadians beat the Mac 4-3 earlier in the tournament during round-robin play.
Brodie Bowen opened the scoring in the game as Regina jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first period.
That was the only goal of the opening frame.
It appeared the second period could end without a goal, but with 51 seconds left Halifax got on the board as River Welsh beat Regina goaltender Ben Meyer.
In the third period, Halifax pulled away as Carter Sullivan scored the eventual game-winner and Will Shearer scored an insurance goal with Regina having its net empty.
Meyer stopped 26 of the 28 shots he faced in the game.
The Pat Canadians returned to the Telus Cup after defeating the Moose Jaw Winmar Warriors in the league final and then in the Telus Cup West Regionals final in Regina.
In the round-robin, the Pat Canadians beat the Macs as well as a 5-4 win over the Okanagan Rockets, a 7-0 win over the Waterloo Wolves and a 7-3 win over the Peterborough Petes. Their only loss of the round-robin was a 6-5 overtime decision against the Chevaliers de Lévis.
Regina will now play for the bronze medal on Sunday against the loser of the other semifinal game against between the Rockets and Chevaliers.
Puck drop for that will be noon on Sunday.
