Broadview RCMP have arrested a man and charged him with assault and forcible confinement, among other charges.
Police responded to a home on Kahkewistahaw First Nation around 4 a.m. on Wed, May 27 after receiving a report that a woman was being confined by an armed man.
The man, a 44-year-old from Ochapowace Firrst Nation, was arrested on the home’s property when police arrived.

“Investigation determined a male suspect assaulted and pointed a firearm at a female, refusing to let her leave the residence. A second male at the residential property was also threatened by the armed suspect, and his vehicle was damaged,” police said in a release.
“It was reported to police that the firearm was never discharged. Neither victim reported physical injuries to police.”
Officers found and seized a handgun when the home was searched.
The 44-year-old man faces multiple charges, including assault, forcible confinement, uttering threats against a person, pointing a firearm and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, among other charges.
He appeared in Regina Provincial Court on May 27. Broadview RCMP are still investigating.
RCMP request public assistance in finding truck connected to alleged assault
Cumberland House RCMP are asking for help from the public to find a truck that is alleged to be connected to an assault investigation.
Officers responded to a report of an assault at a home in Mameek Subdivision in Cumberland House on May 22 around 9 a.m., where they found an injured man. The man was taken to hospital by paramedics with non-life-threatening injuries, police said in a release.
According to police investigation, a group of people went to the home and allegedly assaulted the victim.
“The group stole some of the male’s personal belongings, including his truck, and left the residence in the stolen vehicle,” police said.
The truck police are searching for is described as a navy blue 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 with a Saskatchewan licence plate, 733 MLX.
Police said there are two male and two female suspects.
Cumberland House RCMP are still investigating.
