A 24-year old man from Shoal Lake Cree Nation has been charged following a rollover which killed a 29-year-old male passenger from Shoal Lake Cree Nation.
Carrot River RCMP received a report of a single-vehicle rollover on Shoal Lake Cree Nation on June 5 around. 7 a.m.

Officers responded along with local fire and paramedics. A passenger of the vehicle was declared dead at the scene and his family has been notified. One other passenger and the driver of the vehicle were assessed by EMS.
After further investigation, the driver was arrested at the scene and is facing charges including impaired driving causing death and dangerous driving cause death. He was also ticketed with multiple traffic offences.
He is scheduled to appear in Melfort Provincial Court on June 8.
