A third person has been charged in connection with a shooting that left two people dead on Regina’s Elphinstone Street last week.
According to police, officers were called to the 1100 block of Elphinstone for a report of a shooting at around 4:30 a.m. on Aug. 11. When the officers arrived, they found a 42-year-old woman and a 37-year-old man dead outside a home.

The Regina Police Service has not released the names of the victims, but court documents identified them as Sarah McGillis and Arland Nahnepowisk.
Police said the first suspect, 19-year-old Patricia Stevenson, fled from the scene shortly after the shooting and tried to hide in a yard. During her arrest, the police force said she was injured by a police dog, leaving her with bite injuries severe enough to necessitate a trip to a local hospital.
Stevenson is facing two charges of second-degree murder, along with charges of possession of a loaded/prohibited firearm and unauthorized possession of a firearm.
The day after the shooting, police announced that Rose Sparvier, 42, was also charged with two counts of second-degree murder in connection with the deaths.
On Tuesday, police issued an update saying 30-year-old Faizon Alexson is also facing charges in connection with the shooting. He’s been charged with two counts of second-degree murder, four counts of possession of a firearm or ammunition contrary to a prohibition order and unauthorized possession of a firearm.
He’s expected to appear in Regina Provincial Court on Wednesday morning, police said.
Police noted that the investigation remains ongoing, and asked anyone with information that could help further the case to get in touch with police or submit a tip anonymously through Regina Crime Stoppers.
