A 41-year-old man from Piapot First Nation is facing 19 charges after Southey RCMP identified him as a suspended driver earlier this month.
Saskatchewan RCMP said in a news release on Jan. 19 that an officer stopped the vehicle on Piapot First Nation on Jan. 14 and the man was arrested.

RCMP then searched the vehicle and found a firearm, brass knuckles, a baton, open alcohol, cash and several substances believed to be illegal drugs — about 40 grams of suspected cocaine, 10 grams of suspected methamphetamine, and five grams of suspected fentanyl. The substances will be sent to Health Canada for testing.
The man has been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine, possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, two counts of carrying a concealed weapon, three counts of possessing a weapon for a dangerous purpose, possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle, 10 counts of weapons possession contrary to order and refusal to comply with a demand.
He is in custody and is scheduled to appear in Regina Provincial Court on Jan. 29.
